Privacy policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

The short version

  • We collect your information to run Evnie and provide our service to you. That includes what you type into our forms, what you add to your business profile, and basic technical data from your visits.
  • Sharing your business information is how Evnie works. Business details you give us, like prices, hours, services and availability, are shared with AI assistants, AI companies and other partners so they can describe and recommend your business accurately. This can include licensing that business information to them.
  • We don't sell your personal contact details (like your email address) or your customers' personal information.
  • You're in control. You can see, correct or delete your information, and opt out of sharing, at any time.

1. Who we are

Evnie is operated by FINTechNC, a business based in North Carolina, United States ("Evnie", "we", "us"). Owner: Austin Foster. For anything about your data, email [email protected].

This policy covers the Evnie website, the free AI report card, early-access sign-ups, and the Evnie service.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Free report card: business name, city, type of business and, optionally, your main service.
  • Sign-ups and requests: your email address, business name, the plan you're interested in, and anything you write to us.
  • Your Evnie profile (once you have an account): business details such as services, prices, hours, locations, service area, availability, policies, and booking settings.
  • Payment details when paid plans launch. These are handled by our payment processor; we don't store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically

  • Your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, recorded by our hosting provider for security and to prevent abuse of the free check.

Information from other sources

  • What AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity) say about your business when we check, and the public web pages they cite.
  • Publicly available information about your business, used to check and improve your profile.

3. How we use it

We collect and use your information to provide, operate and service Evnie, including to:

  • run your free report card and ongoing monitoring of what AI assistants say about you;
  • build, maintain and verify your business profile;
  • share your business information with AI platforms and partners so customers get accurate answers (see section 4);
  • power the chat assistant on your website and online booking;
  • send you your report, service messages, and updates about Evnie (you can unsubscribe from marketing at any time);
  • process payments and manage your account;
  • improve Evnie, including by studying overall trends across businesses;
  • keep Evnie secure, prevent abuse, and meet our legal obligations.

4. How we share it

AI platforms and data partners

The core of Evnie is making accurate business information available to the AI tools your customers use. When you add business information to Evnie, we share it with AI assistants, AI companies, search and booking services, and other partners, and may license it to them for use in their products. Shared information includes business details such as your name, address, services, prices, hours, availability and booking options.

We don't share your personal contact details or your customers' personal information as part of this. You choose what goes in your profile and can opt out of sharing at any time (section 7).

Service providers

We use other companies to run Evnie, and they process information on our behalf:

CloudflareHosting, security and storageEverything you submit, plus technical data
OpenAI, Google, PerplexityRunning your AI report cardA question containing your business type, city and service. Never your email.

Other sharing

  • Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect Evnie, our users or the public.
  • Business changes: if Evnie or FINTechNC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. This policy will continue to apply to it.
  • With your permission: anywhere else, only if you agree.

5. We don't sell your personal information

We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-site advertising. Licensing business information as described in section 4 covers details about your business, not personal details about you or your customers.

6. How long we keep it

  • Free report card results: up to 12 hours, so repeat checks load faster.
  • Sign-ups and messages: until you ask us to delete them, or 24 months after we last hear from you.
  • Your profile and account: while your account is open, then deleted within 90 days of closing, except where we must keep records for legal, tax or security reasons.
  • Information already shared: partners who received your business information before you opted out or deleted it may keep the copies they already have. They won't get new updates from us.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your information;
  • correct anything that's wrong;
  • delete your information;
  • stop sharing your business information with AI platforms and partners;
  • stop sending you marketing emails.

Use the Delete my data page or email [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we'll respond within 45 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we honor those too. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access to data. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Evnie is for businesses and adults. It's not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

10. Cookies

We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. See our cookie policy.

11. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let account holders know by email before it takes effect.
